Advice for a teething baby

The relationship between the eruption of teeth and the general health of infants has been documented for over 5,000 years. Common signs & symptoms are diarrhoea, fever, local gum inflammation & pain, nasal congestion, ear infections etc. Controversies aside, children with “teething health problems” are as serious as children with non-teething health issues.
Rajanyadi choornam is a common Ayurveda recipe given to children of this age-group to handle several health problems of this period. It is important to keep the teeth clean, for an year until they start brushing. It may be a good idea to give them a wipe with gauze soaked in sesame oil at bedtime.
